Otis started out in 1952 in Stars and Stripes Forever as a Baton Twirler. His other movies include: The Best of Everything (1959) ― Ocean's 11 (1960) ― Hands of a Stranger (1962).
His list of TV Series were: Producers' Showcase ― West Point ― Maverick ― The Twilight Zone ― Death Valley Days ― One Step Beyond and Route 66.

He appeared in the first season of The Twilight Zone, (Episode 15) entitled 'I Shot An Arrow Into The Air'. The plot idea for the episode would be adapted by Rod Serling in his work on the initial screenplay of the 1968 film Planet of The Apes.

Ollie O’Toole as John Crabtree one of the townsmen. in The Promoter.

He first loaned his voice to Side Street in the1949 Movie. Some of his movie appearances were The Oregan Trail (1959) Wake Me When It's Over (1960) Man's Favorite Sport? (1964) Billy Jack Goes to Washington (1977). His last appearance was in the made for TV Movie, It Came Upon the Midnight Clear (1984) as a Janitor.

He had recurring roles on Gunsmoke, usually as a telegrapher Have Gun - Will Travel The Virginian Bonanza Daniel Boone He also appeared in Cimarron Strip The Big Valley Barnaby Jones Ironside My Three Sons The Invaders Run for Your Life Lost in Space The Man from U.N.C.L.E.
