"Welcome to the McCain Ranch"
This
is a list of character actors whose last name ending in the letter E has
appeared on The Rifleman — One Time Only. Whether they have appeared one
time only or 168 times, they are just as important as the main
characters and/or anyone else involved in The Rifleman. This is just a
small tribute to those great many characters actors.
This section of character actors is dedicated to each & everyone one of
the character actors that appeared on The Rifleman.
They're among the most popular and recognizable actors. They may not be
A-list stars, but they do something many actors don't. They worked all
the time.

War of the Worlds (1953).
He played
in The Life and Legend of Wyatt Earp as Virgil Earp (1958 -
1959) ― The
Virginian as Sheriff Mark Abbott (1962-1969). I don't think there was anything he didn't star in way back when! I
remember him from The Lone Ranger (1952 - 1953). But I know you've seen this
cowboy many of times in many of westerns!
For all you General Hospital fans, he was the first Lee Baldwin.

York City

Bill Erwin as Flecker The Pet.
He also appeared with Chuck in Arrest and Trial
(TV Series / 1964).
Bill's acting career spans sixty-five years and
two-hundred and thirty-two credits to his name.
He has
appeared in many, many things. I know you have seen him over and
over again. One thing in particular that sticks out in my mind
is Somewhere in Time as Arthur Biehl, the desk clerk
at the Grand Hotel. Remember Arthur, he's the little boy bouncing
the ball in the beginning and when Richard goes back in time to find
Elsie, Arthur is a grown man who is Bill Erwin. Talk about a love
story! WOW!
Bill was a wonderful man. When he had to play mean
characters, especially when he was older, you could always tell
that he wasn't as grumpy as it seemed. He played Santa Claus at least three times. Two were grumpy and one was a very cool Santa. That was in my
favorite Santa show, With Love, the Claus, on Highway
to Heaven (1987). Michael Landon had that episode written just for
Bill. Thanks Kevin B., Bill's friend.

Beverly Ann Englander as Miss Carlisle
the dance-hall girl in Lariat.
Ladies of the Night
Besides The
Rifleman (1960), Beverly appeared in The
Twilight Zone (1960) - Sex Kittens Go to College
(1960) - The Adventures of Ozzie & Harriet (1960
- 1961) four times.
Born: June 11, 1939 in Los Angeles,
California
