This is a list of character actors whose last name ending in the letter C has appeared on The Rifleman — One Time Only. Whether they have appeared one time only or 168 times, they are just as important as the main characters and/or anyone else involved in The Rifleman. This is just a small tribute to those great many characters actors.

 They're among the most popular and recognizable actors. They may not be A-list stars, but they do something many actors don't. They worked all the time.

Philip Carey as Simon Battle in
Death Trap.
He was the ex-gunslinger turned doctor.

Carey served in the United States Marine Corps and was wounded as part of the ship's detachment of the USS Franklin during World War II and served again in the Korean War.

His career spanned well over fifty years with ninety-six credits to his name.
 Philip was in Three Stripes in the Sun with Chuck before The Rifleman. He is best know for his part in One Life to Live as Asa Buchanan. He also starred in Philip Marlowe as Phillip Marlow.

I remember him best as Captain Edward Parmalee in Laredo.

Thom Carney as Moss Jackman in Lou Mallory.
He was the shorter of the brothers and a little pudgy.

Thom as over thirty years in the business and fifty-eight credits to his name.
He has done several movies. One you may remember is It! The Terror from Beyond Space. He has done lots of TV shows such as Gunsmoke
Dragnet The Adventures of Rin Tin Tin M Squad Bat Masterson Felony Squad ― Barnaby Jones and The Andy Griffith Show.

John Carpenter as the stagecoach driver in Nora.
John Carpenter played the stagecoach driver.

John's career spanned over thirty-years and fifty-five credits to his name. He not only was an actor he also was a stuntman, writer and a producer.
He appeared in many B Westerns and
in The Adventures of Wild Bill Hickok Network ― The Lawless Rider (1954) ― Son of the Renegade (1953) and I Killed Wild Bill Hickok (1956).

Born: June 25, 1914 in Dardanelle, Arkansas
Died: February 27, 2003 (age 88) in Burbank, California



Fred Carson as a posse member in Gun Shy.

He was an actor, a stuntman, stunt coordinator & an assistant director.  He worked in over 400 movies and TV shows. Carson doubled for Victor Mature, Marlon Brandon, Rory Calhoun, Rod Cameron, Clint Walker, Richard Boone, Anthony Quinn and many others.

Died: July 31, 2001, North Hollywood, California



Jimmy Carter as Charlie in Gun Shy.
He was Mark's friend who was accidentally killed with Lucas's rifle.

Jimmy has appeared in such things as The Jayhawkers! ― The Alaskans
Shirley Temple's Storybook Leave It to Beaver Bonanza and ― Whispering Smith.
He had a recurring role as Herman on Leave it to Beaver.
